Double Double

Split eight cards into two four-card hands before betting. Use either group with the shared board; your stronger five-card hand plays.

How to play

Cards: Hole cards are yours. The board is shared. Make the best five-card hand using your game’s rules.

Betting: Check if no bet is due, call to match, raise to increase the bet, or fold to leave the hand. Going all in bets your remaining chips.

Blinds and turns: The two seats after the dealer post the small and big blinds. With two players, the dealer posts the big blind. Action starts after the big blind, then after the dealer on later streets.

The board: Bet before the flop, after the three-card flop, after the turn, and after the river. At showdown, the best remaining hand wins. Ties split.

Hands, strongest first: Straight flush (including royal flush), four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, pair, high card. Wild cards can make five of a kind, which beats them all.

Pot limit here: Maximum additional chips = 3 × last bet + pot. With a last bet of 2 and a pot of 10, you can put in up to 16 chips.

  • You are dealt 8 hole cards.
  • Before the flop, you split them into two groups of 4 (you choose how the eight cards are divided).
  • Make your best five-card hand from either group and the board, using any mix.
  • Play the stronger of your two hands.
  • Some options may be unavailable if there are not enough cards for everyone.

Who wins

Highest playing hand at showdown wins the hand (same tie-breaking as other Hold'em-style games). Ties split; side pots apply when players are all-in for different amounts.
